Destiny, because nothing is by chance but everything is causal, wanted us to meet to help others to overcome what by God's grace we managed to overcome many years ago. And a few months were enough to unite our life objective: to help others to find the light; to offer our time, experiences and knowledge so that others may know that it is possible to straighten the path. What is not possible is to live resigned to pain, guilt and despair. Because we will always find solutions; we just have to insist.
Yes, there is hope at the bottom of that cold, black tunnel of addictions, sadness, depression or anguish. We are not a recovery institution, we are not an addiction or nervous system clinic, nor an NGO focused on this population; we are a wellness center where the addict to drugs, alcohol, sex, food, bad treatment, and others, or the guest with emotional circumstances difficult to handle, can learn from us, who have already lived it, to use tools to help him/her overcome.
But along the way we realized that this great blessing that came to us, in the form of a beautiful house where La Maria Group operates in Barichara, and the professional and human team that joined us over the years, can do much more. And then came the wellness workshops, such as yoga and conscious eating, addiction retreats and wellness tourism. And then the house adapts, the workshop leaders change, and the routines adapt to the guests. Whether it's about healing or simply reconnecting.
